WHAT YOU WILL LEARN



INTERACTION WITH THE SUBJECT

Many notions related to perspective with buildings, streets, roofs, windows, doors, boats and other elements.

• Recognition of elements from the three distances and how to create deepness on your painting.

• Observing and setting the daylight moments with precise design on lights and shadows, added to create volume and three dimensions.

• Manage the three hours window during the stand for your plein-air painting; how to recognize the sun trajectory and how it will affect the subject.

• Judging from the many objects and elements belonging to the subject. These will create a variety and interest on your painting such as waterside, boardwalks, boats, trees, windows, plant pots and gardens, motorcycles, balconies, flags and others.

• Acrylics plein-air techniques.

• How to prepare a proper gesso undercoat for a daylight subject.

• Understanding the drying accelerated process of acrylics and how to manage drying speed with slow-dry gels.

• How to work over a first dried painting coat, wich is a superposition of painting layers

• Awareness of drying speed that leads you to manage different values at the same time.

• How to take advantages of wet paint moments to create variations.

• How to manage thin and bold textures.



COMPOSITION

• How to divide the canvas space from the main masses of your subject.

• How to identify your golden points and relates them to your subject.

• How to create a main focal point.

• How to create a triangle and achieve a hierarchy relation between the subject's main points of interest.

• Create a value relation that leads the eyes and creates volume.

• How to engage in colors without exaggerating intensity.

• Identify color temperatures from light areas to shade areas.

• Recognition from your palette color the right temperatures.

• How to manage the painting periphery and how to create a movement getting away from the canvas edges.
